Optics11 Chiaro

The Optics11 Chiaro nanoindenter provides quantitative mechanical characterisation of soft biological materials and biomaterials with micro- to nanoscale precision.
The system performs controlled indentation and force spectroscopy measurements to assess local elastic and viscoelastic properties, including stiffness and time-dependent mechanical behaviour. Closed-loop feedback control ensures precise regulation of indentation depth and applied force, enabling highly reproducible measurements across delicate samples.
The instrument is integrated with an inverted Zeiss Axio Observer microscope equipped with fluorescence imaging, allowing correlative mechanical and optical analysis. A temperature-controlled stage supports live-cell experiments and time-dependent studies under physiologically relevant conditions.
The platform is particularly suited for hydrogels, cells, organoids, and soft tissues.
Key Capabilities
