lifETIME CDT – Engineered Tissues for Discovery, Industry and Medicine

EPSRC have launched a 2018 call for Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs). We have been shortlisted to submit a full application, to provide PhD training in the UK for 50+ students over 9 years in non-animal technologies – bioengineered systems, cellular models, scaffolds/on-chip systems – for medicines discovery, safety testing and functional validation. Please contact us if you would like to know more about our industry club and stakeholder executive to engage with the CDT activities.

CDTs provide better trained PhD graduates, through cohort training, industrial and stakeholder interactions to expose students to more varied experiences, and access to more infrastructure and resources – a pool of academic, industrial and stakeholder supervisors and partners.

lifETIME is a CDT bid led by academics at the University of Glasgow, the University of Birmingham, Aston University and NUI Galway.

Industry Day – 13th June 2018

We hosted this day at the University of Glasgow, with sixty-four attendees, thirty two of which from industry and NGOs, to open a discussion about the training needs of the future PhDs. We are using the feedback from this great experience to prepare our CDT full proposal.
