Goodbye, Belen!
We had the pleasure of hosting visiting researcher Belen Parra Torrejon here at the CeMi! Belen wrote a short blog on her experience in Glasgow:
When I arrived at CeMi for the past three months I knew that at the very least, I would get an experience. The first thing that caught my attention was the ARC facilities. I was surprised by its magnificent equipment and design. However, what makes a centre great and functional is its staff, and for that, CeMi is exceptional.
Although the time flew by, the feeling I left with was that I had grown as a person and as a scientist. Firstly, the group meetings on Tuesdays helped me to understand the amount of parallel work being carried out there and served me as an introduction to a field, until then, unknown to me. Secondly, I would like to thank all the people who have accompanied me, since you are great workers from whom I have been able to learn a lot and beautiful people, willing to help in whatever I needed. That includes Monday’s cakes, which made Monday less Monday :).
I hope that one day I will be able to return all that you have taught me at CeMi, inside and outside the laboratory, you have been very generous with me and I only hope that our paths will cross again.
Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart!
