,

The HEALIKICK consortium held its final in‑person meeting on 26th March 2026 at the Ingliston Country Club & Hotel, bringing together partners from across Europe to review progress, celebrate achievements, and reflect on the project’s scientific and translational impact.

The day opened with networking and a welcome from the University of Glasgow, followed by talks from invited experts Mr David Shields and Dr Alison Wilson. Their insights into the future of orthopaedic and trauma surgery and the regulatory pathways required for advanced therapies set the tone for a productive and forward‑looking meeting.

Presentations from Work Packages 1–4 showcased major advances in product formulation, GMP/ISO manufacturing, preclinical models, and regulatory planning. Partners from the University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, NHS Lanarkshire, Histocell, Biogipuzkoa, University of Navarra, and CellData Services contributed to in‑depth discussions throughout the day.

An open discussion session chaired by Professor Manuel Salmeron‑Sanchez highlighted the strength of collaboration across academia, industry, and clinical partners, and looked ahead to the post‑project legacy and translational potential of the HEALIKICK platform.

The meeting concluded with a consortium dinner, marking a fitting close to this phase of work and celebrating the relationships and innovation that have driven the project forward.
